چکیده

Essential hypertension affects 20-30% of the population worldwide and contributes significantly to mortality and morbidity[1] from cerebrovascular diseases, myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure and renal insufficiency. Essential hypertension is a prevalent disorder that leads to significant morbidity and mortality. Essential hypertension is defined as chronically elevated arterial pressure resulting from an unknown etiology. Intrinsically, it is a complex, heterogeneous, multifactorial syndrome to which environmental factors are partly responsible for. A lineup of aberrant environmental factors, including dietary salt intake[2,3,4], body weight[5,6], physical inactivity[7.8], physical stress[9.10], cigarette smoking [11-14], alcohol consumption[15-18] and inadequate potassium consumption[19,20] contribute to essential hypertension, possibly by infuriating genetically programmed susceptibilities. Results from twins, adoptive and population studies suggest high degree of similarity of blood pressure values, thus indicating the importance of genetic variables in essential hypertension etiology[21-25]. It is assumed that blood pressure is under the control of a large number of genes each of which has only relatively mild effects.

Gene Expression Profile Analysis during Mouse Tooth Development

Introduction: Complex molecular pathways involve in development of different tissues such as teeth. Differential gene expression patterns during teeth development generates different tooth types. Teeth development results from interactions between oral epithelium and underlying ectomesenchyme cells with neural crest origin. Teeth development are regulated by different signaling networks. In thi...

Differential Gene-Expression of Metallothionein 1M and 1G in Response to Zinc in Sertoli TM4 Cells

Background: Zinc (Zn) as an important trace element is essential for testicular development and spermatogenesis. Molecular mechanism of Zn action in the reproductive system may be related to metal binding low-molecular weight proteins, metallothioneins (MT). Our objective was to determine the effect of Zn on two important isoforms of MT, MT1M and MT1G genes expression on testicular sertoli cell...

P-70: Evidence for Differential Gene Expression of A Major EpigeneticModifier Enzyme, de novo DNA Methyltransferase 3b, through Vitrification of Mouse Ovary Tissue

Background: Ovarian tissue cryopreservation is a feasible method to preserve female reproductive potential, especially in young patients with cancer or in women at risk of premature ovarian failure. Vitrification has recently emerged as a new trend for biological specimen preservation. On the other hand, gene expression that changes during vitrification can influence oocyte maturation and need ...

Microarray Analysis of Differential Gene Expression Profile in Peripheral Blood Cells of Patients with Human Essential Hypertension

The polygenic nature of essential hypertension and its dependence on environmental factors pose a challenge for biomedical research. We hypothesized that the analysis of gene expression profiles from peripheral blood cells would distinguish patients with hypertension from normotensives. In order to test this, total RNA from peripheral blood cells was isolated. RNA was reversed-transcribed and l...

Differential Expression of MiR-18b in PBMC from T1D Patients in Isfahan population

Background: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is caused by cell-mediated autoimmune attack on pancreatic beta-cells. Previous studies highlight the role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the pathogenesis of T1D. MiRNAs are small non-coding RNAs involved in the regulation of gene expression post-transcriptionally. In this work, miR-18b was chosen and the differential expression of it was measured between T1D patient...
